Abstract: |
Digital imaging has become a iegular part of our life and thus our storage devices may be out of space easily or we need huge data storage device for this purpose. It is intended here to implement a practical approach to automatic deletion of low quality images from our storage devices to ensure elficient use of storage device. The Discreet Cosine Transform (DCT) based Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) compression method often introduce blocking effects and capturing with motion creates blurring artifacts, which seriously degrade the visual quality of images. Assqming human eyes are sensitive to blocking effects and structural information, a simple and effitient model based on blocking artifact and edge information is designed for JPEG compressed image quality assessment As human visual pCrception sensitivity is different for edge and non-edge areas, the above mentioned features are divided into edge and non-edge areas. Experimental results show that the rhethod has suflicient accuracy in the specified application |
