Zn substituted Hydroxyapatite (HA.) has been developed using 0.05 and 0.lM ZnCO3 solution following the wet chemical precipitation method. The formation of desired substituted apatite was confirmed by XRD, FTIR and SEM analysis. As choice of raw materials is very important for any method to be developed, we choose eggshell as Ca precursor for producing cost effective doped bio-ceramic. Such selection would obviously be very helpful not only to make the process be economically feasible but also to create an effective material-recycling technology for waste management.
